Real Bride - Samantha & Jay
Although The Ivory Room was only Samantha’s second Bridal Shopping appointment, she made quite the journey coming all the way from Hull with her Mum.
What a journey!
Although The Ivory Room was only Samantha’s second Bridal Shopping appointment, she made quite the journey coming all the way from Hull with her Mum.
Thanks to the stockist finder at Justin Alexander, she knew that we had the exact dress she wanted… or so she thought. When Samantha tried on the gown she thought would be ‘the one’, she did love it but the drop shoulder just wasn’t quite right. Which is exactly why it’s important to try on a few different styles and not get too hung up on one you’ve seen pictures of!
After pulling 6 or 7 more dresses, we found one in Blush Pink that was perfect - but we had to get creative so that Samantha could see how it would look once she’d ordered it in Ivory. It can be hard to picture your dress finished when it’s not quite how you’d order it in store, but luckily Samantha could use her imagination.
We said ‘Goodbye’, they left to go home and have a long think… until they came back just over an hour later! Samantha and her Mum just couldn’t leave without it!
As with many of our gowns, it took 6 months to come in, and when her actual gown was here and she was stood in front of the mirror - she just knew she’d made the right decision, it was a wonderful moment!
We popped some detachable sleeves on to make the dress 100% unique for Samantha, and luckily for us Samantha chose The Ivory Room for her veil, tiara and all of her jewellery. The look really came together and even then in the boutique, Samantha looked stunning.
Her dress then lived at Mum’s until the big day, when Samantha married her new husband at Dunedin Country Manor, her beautiful photographs are by the ever talented James Green Studio.
I asked Samantha what the best part of her day was, and after some thought she landed on her sparkler send off. I actually got emotional listening to her describe how all of her hard work had paid off by this point, the day had come together beautifully and everything that was pre-planned had happened - so from this moment on she could breathe and just enjoy dancing the night away as a newly married woman!
Thank you so much for making the journey to us, Samantha - we wish you a wonderful marriage and life together!
Real Bride - Teagan & Martyn
There is nothing more special than when we see past Brides return with their newly engaged family or friends, and Teagan had a double recommendation to use The Ivory Room - both of her sister-in-laws purchase their gowns from The Ivory Room so luckily for us, it was a no brainer than we were Teagan’s first choice.

I was given a vague description of ‘white with long sleeves’ and so I set about pulling the perfect gown - it was a rare occasion when the first one she tried on was ‘The One’!
Not only were we able to make Teagan look like a princess, but she also bought her Flower Girl dress for her 2 year old daughter, which was handmade for her here in Lincolnshire and Teagan was able to design it exactly how she wanted it. At The Ivory Room we make every girl feel as special as the Bride - and this little Bridesmaid was no exception at her appointment!
Teagan married her new husband, Martyn at St Peter’s Church before having the reception at the ever stunning Hemswell Court - and it was a picture perfect Festive Wedding with deep colours and dark red roses. The whole day looks like it could be from a beautiful Christmas Film thanks to the forever talented James Green Studio. So many of our Brides choose James to be their photographer and we know that the images will be stunning when we see them!
Teagan told me that she had the most magical day, with the most special part being the speeches. Dad was funny, the Best-Man did a Pub Quiz and of course the Groom was just lovely about his new wife.
As is always important with your wedding gown, it was great for dancing in! We always ensure that you can move in your gown, no-one wants to feel restricted once they hit that dance floor.
We hope that you had a truly incredible day, Teagan, thank-you to you and your family for choosing The Ivory Room once again!
Real Bride - Emily & Eoin
I have never been so happy and smiled so much on one day! It was so special to share it with friends & family, and seeing everyone on the dance floor having a ball!
What is your most special memory from the day?
I have never been so happy and smiled so much on one day! It was so special to share it with friends & family, and seeing everyone on the dance floor having a ball!
Tell us about your proposal!
Two years last Christmas Eve Eoin took me to the marina near his home in Ireland, in the freezing cold for a ‘walk’. I had absolutely no idea what was going on until he plucked up the courage to pop down on one knee with a ring which fitted perfectly!
Describe your bridal style. How did you want to look on your wedding day? Tell us about your dress shopping experience.
I really wasn’t sure what style of dress I was after but knew it would be elegant and quite a classic look. The Ivory Room was the first and last bridal shop I went in and had the best experience finding my perfect dress. Victoria was extremely helpful and was a lovely, friendly and honest person to help me find my dress which we all knew was ‘the one’.
In your own words, tell us more about your wedding. What was your theme and colors? How did you make your wedding personal to your love story?
We got married in Eoin’s local church in Ireland, with the local pub opposite to dive in for a quick celebratory drink before heading to our reception a few miles away. Our venue was a wedding village with a private marina containing idyllic Irish country cottages as the accommodation with a permanent marque, it was perfect for us as we had the venue to ourselves for the weekend and it gave us the relaxed, family feel we wanted.
Real Bride - Verity & Sam
The Ivory Room bride Verity married Sam at the rustic and family owned Foxtail Barns in Staffordshire. Verity looked beautiful in her Essense Of Australiagown. She was inspired by Megan Markle’s elegant style mixed with the show stopping Bond girl look, I think she achieved this perfectly! Here is their story…..

THE PROPOSAL
During C-19 Sam and I had a dining room picnic as we were unable to go out. Whilst mid way through a sandwich, I turned around to see Sam in one knee. I was in such shock that I’m still not sure I said yes!
THE WEDDING DRESS
I knew that I wanted a classic style with a modern twist. Before arriving to meet Victoria, I had tried on a few Lacy numbers but these really didn’t suit me. The Ivory Room had such a diverse range of dresses that there were several to choose from which matched what I was after.
THE WEDDING
Colour theme was Navy and Silver and there were subtle hints of this throughout the day. My bouquet was a classic white. Our name cards for the seating plan were pictures of either Sam or I with the guest. This made an awesome discussion point for our guests who were then showing each other and explaining where the picture was from. It was a great icebreaker.
My favourite moment was the walk back to our wedding night lodge with my husband and we discussed the events of the day. They has beautiful fairy lights in the trees and we walked hand in hand to bed. My face was hurting for days afterwards because of how much I was smiling. I loved how joyful the day was and how much happiness we were surrounded by.

Real Bride - Victoria & Matthew
Due to COVID this wedding had been a long time coming but finally The Ivory Room bride Victoria married Matthew at the beautiful Hazel Gap Barn in Nottinghamshire. Victoria Spotted her Justin Alexander gown online and got in touch with them to ask who stocked it, The Ivory Room was the only stockist in the UK for this particular dress and, luckily for Victoria, she didn’t have to travel far. She and her mum came over to try the dress on and it was perfect, completely meant to be! Here is their story…..

THE PROPOSAL
Our proposal was at home! My sister and her family were over from australia for Christmas , and Matthew proposed at home on Christmas morning as I was opening my presents.
THE WEDDING DRESS
I wanted to look classy and elegant, but have a dress with a slight twist. My goal was to choose a dress I knew I wouldn’t look back on and think it was a ‘fashion’ dress; I wanted a timeless piece. I had seen the dress on the Justin Alexander website and found a stockist (The Ivory Room!) booked an appointment, tried on ‘the dress’, fell and love, and tried on no others.
THE WEDDING
Again, I wanted to keep my theme fairly simple and elegant. We had classic roses as our flowers, with gold, burgundy, and mauve pink touches throughout the decor.
One of the most special memories was walking down the aisle with my dad, seeing all our guests in the ceremony room and Matthew at the top of the aisle.
